10 day Tanzania safari

The 10 day Tanzania safari is a long and detailed trip that will ensure that you witness the best experience during the tour to Tanzania. During this safari, you will visit Serengeti National park, Ngorongoro conservation area, Lake Manyara National Park, Tarangire National Park and Zanzibar.

We shall pick you up from the Kilimanjaro International airport to your hotel in Arusha before the beginning of this trip. Other pick up locations around Tanzania can be considered

Day 1: Arusha – Tarangire National Park

Early in the morning, our tour guide will drive you from your hotel in Arusha to Tarangire National Park. The journey to Tarangire is expected to be 3 hours. Upon arrival, you will check in the lodge, have some meals and you will depart the lodge with packed lunch for a full day game drive. Tarangire most famous attractions are the lions.

The park hosts a large herd of elephants. Other wildlife species to expect include the wildebeest, crocodiles, hippopotamus, zebra, giraffes, lions, elephants, leopard, hyenas, cheetah and many more. In the evening, you will return to the lodge where you will be served with the perfect meals.

Day 2: Full day game drive Tarangire

Early in the morning, you will drive to the park for a full day game viewing experience.  Since the park is relatively big, time is needed to visit most of the park’s areas and on this day; you will be in position to visit the different sections of the park.

Areas around the river banks of Tarangire inhabit many wildlife species. By evening hours, you will surely have many wild memories. You will return to the lodge where you will be served with delicious meals.

Day 3: Tarangire National Park- Lake Manyara National Park

Early in the morning, you will depart Tarangire National park for Lake Manyara National Park. The journey is expected to last for about 3 hours. Upon arrival, you check in the lodge where you will be offered breakfast, after relaxation, you will be transferred to the park with packed lunch for a full day game viewing experience.

Lake Manyara National Park hosts many wildlife species such as the lions, elephants, buffaloes, cheetah, leopards, zebra, elands, hyena, wildebeest, crocodiles, hippopotamus, giraffes, warthogs, baboons, vervet monkeys, and many more.

The highlight of the trip to Lake Manyara national Park is witnessing the tree- climbing lions.  In the evening, you will return to the lodge with various wild memories.

Day 4: Full day Lake Manyara National park

There is a possibility of missing out on watching the tree-climbing experience the previous day yet it is one of the most important activities in the park. This is why this day is necessary. You will be able to witness as many species and experiences on this day.

The game drive will start early in the morning until evening hours. Lake Manyara that flows through the park provides water to the park’s inhabitants. And it is mostly around the shores where intense game viewing is observed.

Day 5: Ngorongoro

Early in the morning, you will depart to Ngorongoro crater. The distance is relatively short and within 1 hour, you are likely to have reached the Ngorongoro. Upon arrival, you will enter the park via loduare gate. Upon entering, you will be driven to the Ngorongoro crater rim view area where you will have wonderful views of the crater floor.

At this point, you will take as many photos possible. Later, you will descend to the crater floor for an adventurous game viewing experience. There is so much to witness during the game drive.

Some of the common species to expect include the African big 5- lions, elephants, buffaloes, rhinos, and leopards. Other species to expect include the wildebeest, crocodiles, hippopotamus ,zebra, elands, Topis, hyenas, giraffes, cheetah, and many more.  A fully tasty lunch will be served at hippo pool picnic site. The game drive will later continue until evening hours. Later, you will be driven to the crater rim and later depart for the lodge where you shall be served with delicious meals.

Some lodges especially luxury lodges are located along the crater rim which provides another opportunity to continue on with the sightseeing of the crater floor at the comfort of your lodge

Day 6: Full day game drive Ngorongoro

Early in the morning, you will be driven to Ngorongoro crater floor for another remarkable game viewing experience. During the entire trip, you will be looking out for some of the wild species that you could have missed the previous day. Delicious lunch shall be served at hippo pool picnic site. The game drive will stop in the evening and afterwards, you will be driven to the lodge for another night.

Day 7: Serengeti

Early in the morning, you will be transferred to Serengeti National Park.  Most tourists always want to visit the oldupai gorge which is along the route to Serengeti from Ngorongoro. Even during this trip, you will optionally visit the oldupai gorge.

The oldupai gorge is a historical site where remains of the first humans were discovered. There is a Museum at the site which you can visit to learn more the history the site. The local guides are also knowledgeable about oldupai. After the visit, you will continue with trip to Serengeti.

Upon arrival, you will check in the lodge, have lunch and later visit the park for an afternoon game drive. Serengeti National park is stacked with various wildlife species. During the visit to the park, it is possible to witness the big 5- lions, elephants, buffaloes, rhinos, and leopards.

Other species to expect include the elands, Topis, gazelles, crocodiles, hippopotamus, crocodiles, zebra, cheetah, hyena, waterbuck, bushbuck, warthogs, reedbuck, wildebeest, antelopes, impalas, and many more.

In the evening, you will return to the lodge with many wild memories. It is possible to witness the African sunset

Day 8: Full day game drive in Serengeti

The full day game drive in Serengeti National park will enable you to witness various wildlife species within the park. It should be noted that Serengeti Park is vast and therefore it requires more time to explore. The full day game drive will start early in the morning until evening.

Breakfast and lunch shall be served along the way. By evening hours, you will have wonderful memories of Serengeti

Day 9: Zanzibar

Early in the morning, you will be driven to the park at the hot-air balloon launch site where you will board the hot-air balloon which is flown over the park while witnessing various wildlife species. This aerial wildlife experience shall enable you to witness as many species as possible.

You will be in position to take aerial photos. After landing, you will be treated to a bush breakfast, and afterwards, you will be driven to seronera airstrip where you shall take a flight to Zanzibar. Our tour guide who is stationed in Zanzibar will be waiting for you at the airport.

Upon meeting, you will be driven to the stone town, spice market, the once slave market, sultan palace and other tourism attractions within the city. In the evening, you will be driven to the hotel where you will be served with delicious meals

Day 10: airport

On this day, you will choose the beach around Zanzibar where you will relax, participate in the beach activities, have great meals at the beach restaurants and later you will be transferred to the airport where you will take a flight back home
